CURRENT INTERESTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |

| Research and educational programming
facilitating the optimum development/management of marine
and coastal resources. Areas of expertise include fisheries,
coastal zone management, economic development, environmental
protection, recreation and tourism, and marine education. Information
transfer via publications, workshops, mass media and individual
contacts. Network with state and federal resource management
agencies, researchers, government, industry, educators, and the
general public to assist in policy formulation. Conduct applied
research supported through broad array of funding mechanisms.
Use of extension methodologies including needs assessment, information
and technology transfer, and program evaluation. Development
and implementation of broad range of educational programs to
serve coastal and maritime industries. Provide support to Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium
and other extension specialists. Provide technical assistance
to support extension agents at county level. Supervise graduate
students, project personnel and budgets. |
